Baseball Recap: Page Has No Trouble Against Monument Valley

Page won the last time they faced Monument Valley and things went their way on Saturday too. Page was the clear victor by an 11-3 margin over Monument Valley. The Sand Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by eight runs or more this season.

Kellen Cummings and Mason Yazzie did most of the damage at the plate: Cummings scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2, while Yazzie went 1-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Page is undefeated when Cummings posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Sam, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Page's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Monument Valley, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Page will face off against rival Tuba City at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Monument Valley is set to square off against their familiar foe Ganado at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
