Baseball Recap: Maritime Academy Charter Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Maritime Academy Charter's offense. They came up short against the Abraham Lincoln Railsplitters on Friday, falling 15-0. Considering the last time the Seadogs couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Maritime Academy Charter saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Vazquez-Trioch, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Maritime Academy Charter and nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for Abraham Lincoln, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maritime Academy Charter will venture away from home to face off against Mariana Bracetti Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Maritime Academy Charter's pitchers better be ready for this one: Mariana Bracetti Academy has averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Abraham Lincoln, they will head out on the road to challenge Northeast at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.55 runs per game on average), something the Railsplitters will no doubt try to take advantage of.
