Softball Recap: Horizon Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Horizon's offense. They fell just short of the Desert Mountain Wolves by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday. The Huskies have struggled against the Wolves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Pierson Hozza spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

Horizon's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Desert Mountain, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-1-1.

Horizon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-4 victory against Notre Dame Prep on the 27th. As for Desert Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-1 win against Mountain Pointe on the 27th.
