Loveland takes loss despite strong efforts from Zayne Desouza and Trey Olsen

Recap: Loveland Red Wolves vs. Rocky Mountain Lobos

The Loveland Red Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 64-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rocky Mountain. Loveland lost against Rocky Mountain in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 73-27 score last time.

Loveland's loss came despite strong showings from Trey Olsen and Zayne Desouza. Olsen scored 22 points along with nine rebounds, while Desouza scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. Desouza also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Joey Circenis, who scored six points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rocky Mountain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Avantae Hood, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Hood is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Daniel Mbadinga-nzamba was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.

Loveland's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Rocky Mountain, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.

Loveland will challenge Poudre at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rocky Mountain, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Prairie View at 6:30 p.m. Prairie View is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
