Basketball Game Preview: Harlan Cyclones vs. Glenwood Rams

Harlan and Glenwood are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Harlan Cyclones will challenge the Glenwood Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Harlan will head out to face Glenwood after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. Harlan lost to St. Albert at home by a 60-42 margin. The match marked the Cyclones' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Glenwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Shenandoah and fell 65-33. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 50th).

Glenwood's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Harlan, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3.

Everything came up roses for Harlan against Glenwood in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured an 82-32 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Harlan since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
