Volleyball Recap: Scottsburg Comes Up Short

Scottsburg extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-8 in the process. They fell 3-1 to the Jeffersonville Red Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 two weeks ago.

As for Jeffersonville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The victory was familiar territory for they, who have now won four games in a row.

Leading Jeffersonville to victory were Malachi Crowder and James Medina. Crowder had nine digs and four aces, while Medina had six aces. Those six aces gave Medina a new career-high. Tre'Sean Simpson also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Looking ahead, Scottsburg will host Southwestern at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Jeffersonville, they will take on Homestead at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Red Devils surely won't give up without a fight.
