Basketball Recap: East Duplin Skates Past Rosewood with Ease

A well-balanced attack led East Duplin over Rosewood in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the East Duplin Panthers blew the Rosewood Eagles out of the water with a 51-10 final score. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.

Leading East Duplin to victory were Zakoya Farrior and Jamyah Pickett. Farrior went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points, while Pickett posted four points and six steals. Farrior continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Noble, who put up four points.

East Duplin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 39 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

East Duplin's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Rosewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

East Duplin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-14 win against North Lenoir on the 9th. As for Rosewood, they will square off against Hobbton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rosewood is facing Hobbton at the right time seeing as Hobbton is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
