Softball Recap: Lovington Victorious

Lovington proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Santa Teresa Desert Warriors 9-7. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-4 on Saturday.

Lovington saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Johanna Ochoa, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Those two runs gave Ochoa a new career-high.

Lovington's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Santa Teresa, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-5.

Lovington didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-5 loss against Roswell on the 17th. As for Santa Teresa, they have also already played their next game, a 16-5 victory against Mountain View on the 17th.
