After a string of five wins, Grayslake Central's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Libertyville Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The Rams were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in June of 2021.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 24-26, 25-14.

Ben Boron paced Grayslake Central's offense, picking up 18 kills. Boron got some help from Bryce Tupaz and his 29 assists.

Grayslake Central's defeat dropped their record down to 22-5. As for Libertyville, they pushed their record up to 21-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Grayslake Central has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Grant Community on the 8th. As for Libertyville, they will face off against Niles West at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
