Volleyball Recap: Chillicothe Falls Despite Big Games from Evelyn Hamman and Izabella Canter + How To Watch

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Chillicothe and Unioto meet (six straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Cavaliers fell just short of the Shermans by a score of 3-2. The Cavaliers haven't had much luck with the Shermans recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Chillicothe wouldn't go down easily and took Unioto into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-22, 25-13, 22-25, 15-13.

Chillicothe's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Izabella Canter, who had 15 digs, and Evelyn Hamman, who had 23 kills, ten digs, and four blocks. Hamman has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 25 times she's played.

Ellie Depoy was a one-woman wrecking crew For Unioto. as she had 14 digs and five aces.

Chillicothe's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Unioto, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chillicothe will challenge McClain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Unioto, they will face off against Portsmouth West at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
