Softball Recap: Bonita Beats Claremont for Their Fourth Straight Win

Bonita waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Claremont Wolfpack by a score of 11-7. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 11-0 win last Thursday.

Serenity Reyes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5 strikeouts per game. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-4. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Koa Puppe, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Skyy Hicks was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Bonita kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.

Bonita's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Claremont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Bonita wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 17-1 win against Walnut on the 29th. As for Claremont, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-2 victory against Diamond Bar on the 28th.
