Basketball Recap: Johnson County Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from JT Bivins and Daezon Devero

Johnson County lost against Hancock Central back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Johnson County Trojans took a 62-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hancock Central Bulldogs.

Johnson County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Daezon Devero, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 17 points, and JT Bivins, who went 6 of 10 en route to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Wright, who posted eight points.

Among those leading the charge was Jace Glover, who went 9 of 11 on his way to 18 points. Those 18 points gave him a new career-high. Josiah Ingram was another key player, going 5 of 6 on his way to 12 points.

Johnson County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Hancock Central, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-7.

Johnson County will challenge Glascock County at 7:30 p.m. on January 21st. As for Hancock Central, they will take on Georgia Military College at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hancock Central is facing Georgia Military College at the right time seeing as Georgia Military College is stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
