It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cornerstone Christian can now relate to. They fell just short of the Schurr Spartans by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Crusaders' loss signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.

Alec O'Sullivan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lucas Gomez-Creguer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Jesse Villicana was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Cornerstone Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 23-6. As for Schurr, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-15 record this season.
