Softball Recap: Graham-Kapowsin's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Graham-Kapowsin can now relate to. They fell just short of the Emerald Ridge Jaguars by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Eagles were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but the Jaguars' pitcher proved too tough.

Jessika Jennings spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Graham-Kapowsin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Macee Matison, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

With the loss, Graham-Kapowsin broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-5. As for Emerald Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
