Basketball Game Preview: Greenbrier Wolfpack vs. Brunswick Pirates

The Greenbrier Wolfpack just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Brunswick Pirates at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Greenbrier is headed into the matchup having just posted their biggest win since January 3rd on Tuesday. They breezed past South Effingham to the tune of 66-36. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolfpack.

Meanwhile, Brunswick came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 53-38 victory over the Tigers.

Greenbrier better keep an eye on Martin Davis. She was instrumental in Brunswick's win, going 6 of 13 en route to 17 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Davis is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Lauryn Walker was another key player, putting up seven points along with 14 rebounds and three steals.

Greenbrier's record is now 10-15. As for Brunswick, their record now sits at 18-6.

Greenbrier might still be hurting after the 74-53 defeat they got from Brunswick when the teams last played back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Davis, who went 11 for 17 to rack up 25 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. Now that Greenbrier knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
