Basketball Game Preview: Bloom Blazing Trojan vs. Thornton Wildcats

Bloom and Thornton are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Bloom Blazing Trojan will be playing at home against the Thornton Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bloom will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Last Thursday, Bloom was fully in charge, breezing past Thornridge 61-30. The Blazing Trojan have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 59 points the game before, Thornton was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They fell 34-25 to Crete-Monee.

Bloom pushed their record up to 20-8 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Thornton, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Everything came up roses for Bloom against Thornton in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 58-21 victory. Will Bloom repeat their success, or does Thornton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
