Basketball Game Preview: Anna Coyotes vs. Lovejoy Leopards

Anna is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Lovejoy is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Anna Coyotes will host the Lovejoy Leopards at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Anna is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season.

Anna came up short against Denison on Saturday, falling 69-46. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 499th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 158th).

Despite the loss, Anna saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Noah Foster dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards. Those 12 rebounds gave Foster a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lamin Foon, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Anna smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Lovejoy blew past Sherman, posting an 81-47 victory.

Lovejoy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.1 points per game. As for Anna, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.
