Oakland is 8-2 against Blackman since August of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Patriots will be playing at home against the Blaze at 7:30 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Oakland has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Blackman will arrive with six straight victories.

On Monday, Oakland came up short against Independence and fell 3-1.

Oakland was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Independence work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Blackman got the win against Wilson Central on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

One reason for the win was Blackman's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-21, 25-19.

Oakland better keep an eye on Annabelle Grissom. She was instrumental in Blackman's win, getting five aces and four digs. That's the most aces Grissom has posted over her last eight matchups. Amaya Perkins also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Blackman's win bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Oakland, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.

Oakland skirted past Blackman 3-2 in their previous matchup back in September. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blaze turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
