Basketball Recap: Jefferson Forest's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Jefferson Forest lost against Salem back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Jefferson Forest Cavaliers lost 53-28 to the Salem Spartans. The match marked the Cavaliers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Salem's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gabby Crawley led the charge by putting up 13 points and three blocks. Crawley continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Emme Custer was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 12 points and six rebounds.

Jefferson Forest moved to 7-5 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Salem, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson Forest will head out to face off against Liberty Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Salem, they will head out on the road to challenge Cave Spring at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
