Basketball Recap: Worthing's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Worthing had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 76-64 win over Varsity Opponent. The Colts have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Varsity Opponent, too.

Worthing got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Courtland Sloan out in front who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 boards. The matchup was Sloan's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Boston Greenwood, who posted 20 points.

Worthing has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Worthing will square off against Waltrip at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Varsity Opponent and Overbrook will round out the year against one another at at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Varsity Opponent's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
