Basketball Game Preview: Akins Eagles vs. Del Valle Cardinals

Akins hasn't had much luck against Del Valle recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Akins Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Del Valle Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Akins came up short against Lake Travis and fell 47-34. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 541st, while the Cavaliers are ranked 188th).

Meanwhile, Del Valle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 63-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westlake.

This is the second loss in a row for Akins and nudges their season record down to 12-17. As for Del Valle, their loss dropped their record down to 15-15.

Akins came up short against Del Valle in their previous meeting back in January, falling 56-50. Can Akins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
