Volleyball Recap: Bullis Bulldogs vs. Jackson-Reed Tigers
Bullis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jackson-Reed Tigers. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Bullis started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-23, 25-13, 25-22.
Katelyn Rolph paced Bullis' offense, picking up nine kills. Rolph got some help from Megan Phan and her 12 assists.
Jackson-Reed's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Claire Brimley led the charge by getting 15 digs and two aces. Those 15 digs gave Brimley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carys Gray, who had 24 assists and seven digs.
Bullis' defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Jackson-Reed, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Looking ahead, Bullis is taking a road trip to take on Bishop O'Connell at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Jackson-Reed, they will square off against Roosevelt at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
