Basketball Game Preview: Brewbaker Tech Rams vs. Vigor Wolves

Two dominant centers in Kennedi Mcghee and Jamonica Chambers are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Brewbaker Tech Rams will take on the Vigor Wolves at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Brewbaker Tech is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They strolled past Eufaula with points to spare, taking the game 54-39.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brewbaker Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mcghee, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 15 boards. Mcghee has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more rebounds the last 34 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Heleyna Pennic, who went 5 for 12 en route to 15 points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Vigor came tearing into Friday's match with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 57-53 W against the Red Raiders. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Red Raiders are ranked 313th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Vigor's victory bumped their record up to 21-10. As for Brewbaker Tech, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-17 record this season.

Brewbaker Tech strolled past Vigor when the teams last played back in February of 2015 by a score of 63-48. Does Brewbaker Tech have another victory up their sleeve, or will Vigor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
