Basketball Recap: Alcovy Comes Up Short on the Road Against Salem

Alcovy kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a hard 68-53 fall against the Salem Seminoles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 62-60 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Antione Graves and Mekhi Hamlin certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Graves posted 16 points, while Hamlin earned 15 points. Kellin Hendrix was another key player, putting up seven points and seven rebounds.

Salem has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alcovy will challenge Locust Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Salem, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Mountain View at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
