Basketball Game Preview: New Home Leopards vs. Clarendon Broncos

The New Home Leopards will challenge the Clarendon Broncos at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

New Home is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Sudan 94-34. The win was familiar territory for the Leopards who have now won six matches in a row.

Meanwhile, Clarendon had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 47.2 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 46-24 margin over the Greyhounds. Given the Broncos' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 476th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clarendon's victory bumped their record up to 28-6. As for New Home, their win bumped their record up to 25-7.

New Home was able to grind out a solid victory over Clarendon in their previous meeting back in November of 2021, winning 57-49. Will New Home repeat their success, or does Clarendon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
