Baseball Game Preview: Bremen Lions vs. Morgan Township Cherokees

The Bremen Lions will venture away from home to challenge the Morgan Township Cherokees at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Bremen couldn't beat Knox on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Lions lost 19-7 to the Redskins.

Preston Williams was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Bremen's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 7-8-1 when he doesn't). Zack Rouch was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Morgan Township suffered their biggest loss since April 28th on Friday. They came up short against Crown Point, falling 21-1. The Cherokees haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Morgan Township saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cal Lemmons, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Bremen's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9-1. As for Morgan Township, their loss dropped their record down to 7-16-1.

Bremen couldn't quite get it done against Morgan Township in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
