Basketball Recap: Environmental Takes a Loss

Environmental lost against Douglass Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Environmental Eagles received a blow as they fell 62-46 to the Douglass Academy Lions. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the Lions are ranked 49th).

This is the second loss in a row for Environmental and nudges their season record down to 7-5. As for Douglass Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Environmental will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hunter College at 5:00 p.m. on January 30th. Douglass Academy has already played their next matchup (against Community Health Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
