Softball Recap: Roncalli Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Roncalli couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 7-1 to the New Palestine Dragons on Wednesday. The game marked the Royals' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Addy Poe was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Poe was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Poe wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jaclyn Diersing, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Roncalli's defeat dropped their record down to 22-8. As for New Palestine, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-4.

As of now, neither Roncalli nor the Dragons have any future games scheduled.
