Baseball Recap: Neosho Has No Trouble Against Siloam Springs

It was a proper cat-fight when Neosho challenged Siloam Springs on Friday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Zack Workman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Neosho got a massive performance out of Drake Jennings, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs Jennings has posted since back in April. Bostyn Patterson was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Neosho's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-5. As for Siloam Springs, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16-1 record this season.

Neosho has already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against McDonald County on the 5th. As for Siloam Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-2 loss against Russellville on the 5th.
