Volleyball Game Preview: Tucson High Magnet School Badgers vs. Marana Tigers

Tucson High Magnet School is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, they and the Marana Tigers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Tucson High Magnet School lost 3-0 to Highland on Wednesday. The Badgers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Marana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Salpointe Catholic.

Marana wouldn't go down easily and took Salpointe Catholic into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-15, 25-21, 23-25, 15-12.

Marana's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Tucson High Magnet School, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.

Tucson High Magnet School skirted past Marana 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Badgers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
