Baseball Game Preview: Amityville Memorial Warriors vs. Smithtown Christian Knights

For the second straight game, Amityville Memorial will face off against Smithtown Christian. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

After dropping their season opener at home, Smithtown Christian is headed out to face a Warriors squad ready to give their home crowd a win. Amityville Memorial lost 12-5 to the Knights on Monday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it nine in a row.

For Smithtown Christian's part, Isaiah Gibbs was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. The dominant performance also gave Gibbs a new career-high in RBI (four). Another player making a difference was Caleb Calder, who went 1-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Amityville Memorial suffered a grim 12-5 defeat to Smithtown Christian when the teams last played on Monday. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
