Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Gorman Crusaders vs. McKinney Christian Academy Mustangs

The Bishop Gorman Crusaders will head out to face off against the McKinney Christian Academy Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

McKinney Christian Academy will be up against a hot Bishop Gorman squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Everything went Bishop Gorman's way against Shelton on Thursday as Bishop Gorman made off with a 75-49 victory. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while the Chargers are ranked 935th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Carlin Ifeadi had a dynamite game for Bishop Gorman, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds. Those 27 points gave Ifeadi a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Bender, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 16 points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, McKinney Christian Academy entered their tilt with All Saints Episcopal on Thursday with 16 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 17. They blew past the Trojans 74-49.

McKinney Christian Academy pushed their record up to 35-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.3 points over those games. As for Bishop Gorman, their victory bumped their record up to 19-6.

Bishop Gorman came up short against McKinney Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in January, falling 72-64. Can Bishop Gorman avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
