 After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Highland Park, Taft was happy to have turned things around  on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Maine East Blue Demons as the Taft Eagles made off with  a  12-2 win. The high-scoring effort was just what Taft needed considering they were shutout in their previous   matchup.
  Henry Malarski and  Roberto Gonzalez dominated on the mound. Malarski  struck out six batters over  four innings while giving up just two earned runs off   two  hits, while  Gonzalez  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (he also only allowed one  walk).
 At the plate,  Evan Jocic was a standout: he scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Elias Nanos, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-3.
 On Maine East's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Andrew Merza, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-2.
 The  victory  got Taft back to even at 1-1. As for Maine East, they are  on  a  seven-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taft will be staying on the road  on Wednesday to face off against Chicago Academy at 4:30  p.m. As for Maine East, they will  face off against Ridgewood at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
