Baseball Recap: La Joya Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact La Joya can now relate to. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-3 to the Los Fresnos Falcons, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Coyotes in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost four in a row.

Hunter Morales was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Isaac Sayavedra made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

La Joya's defeat dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Los Fresnos, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 26-3-2.

While La Joya had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Friday.
