Baseball Game Preview: Covington-Douglas Wildcats vs. Medford Cardinals

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Covington-Douglas Wildcats take on Medford Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are still undefeated after three games, but that won't be the case come Monday.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times Covington-Douglas and Cherokee have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. Covington-Douglas put the hurt on Cherokee with a sharp 14-4 win.

Meanwhile, everything went Medford's way against Okeene on Friday as Medford made off with a 10-3 victory.

Medford's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Covington-Douglas, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Covington-Douglas took their win against Medford when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 12-2. Does Covington-Douglas have another victory up their sleeve, or will Medford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
