Basketball Game Preview: First Baptist Christian Warriors vs. St. Thomas Episcopal Saints

First Baptist Christian is 0-10 against St. Thomas Episcopal since January of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The First Baptist Christian Warriors will challenge the St. Thomas Episcopal Saints at 7:30 p.m.

First Baptist Christian is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Westbury Christian, falling 62-40.

The losing side was boosted by Micah Shrum, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 13 points and five boards.

Meanwhile, St. Thomas Episcopal slipped by Northland Christian 72-71 on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Saints' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 612th, while the Cougars are ranked 237th).

St. Thomas Episcopal has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for First Baptist Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

First Baptist Christian was dealt a bruising 86-42 defeat at the hands of St. Thomas Episcopal in their previous matchup on January 14th. Can First Baptist Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
