Football Recap: Waynedale Comes Up Short

Waynedale fell victim to Triway and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 45-0 loss at the hands of the Titans. The defeat continues a trend for the Golden Bears in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost nine in a row.

Maddox Kidd threw for 59 yards on five of 17 attempts. Lane Troyer was his top target, picking up 57 receiving yards.

Luke Starr had a dynamite game For Triway., throwing for 254 yards and three touchdowns while completing 91.3% of his passes, and also rushing for 52 yards and one score on only six carries. The dominant performance also gave Starr a new career-high in passer rating (163.8). Brandt Clippinger was another key player, picking up 74 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Waynedale's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Triway, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Waynedale has already played their next matchup, a 20-14 defeat against Rittman on the 12th. As for Triway, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 32-29 loss against Northwest on the 12th.
