Football Recap: Lakewood Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Lakewood extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 2-5. The contest between the Piners and the Point Pleasant Beach Garnet Gulls didn't end well, with the Piners falling 44-30. While the Piners didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Garnet Gulls 6-0 in the first quarter.

As for Point Pleasant Beach, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Point Pleasant Beach got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Ives out in front who picked up 72 receiving yards and two scores, and also rushed for 49 yards and one TD. Gage Boyle was another key back, gaining 164 total yards and two touchdowns.

Coincidentally, Lakewood and Point Pleasant Beach will both be playing Keansburg the next time they take the field. The Piners will host the Titans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Garnet Gulls will host them at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
