Recap: Cypress Bay Lightning vs. Blanche Ely Tigers
The Cypress Bay Lightning lost against the Blanche Ely Tigers back in November of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Cypress Bay took a 46-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Blanche Ely. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cypress Bay has scored all season.
Cypress Bay lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sofia Gonano, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Gonano is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Looky, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Cypress Bay's loss dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Blanche Ely, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-6.
Cypress Bay will be playing in front of their home fans against Fort Lauderdale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Lauderdale is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Blanche Ely, they will take on Nova at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Nova will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Blanche Ely is ranked 12th).
