Softball Game Preview: Ogden Tigers vs. Green Canyon Wolves

The Ogden Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Green Canyon Wolves at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither Ogden nor Green Canyon posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Last Thursday, Ogden didn't have quite enough to beat Corner Canyon and fell 3-2. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kenzie George was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. George was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

George wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mia Sugimoto, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Green Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Mountain Crest, falling 13-2.

Green Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Ogden, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Monday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ogden has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .457. However, it's not like Green Canyon struggles in that department as they've averaged .457. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
