Basketball Recap: Fairfax Lions vs. Robinson Rams
The Fairfax Lions stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They blew past Robinson, posting a 63-35 win at home. Given Fairfax's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Rams are ranked 272nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cameron Love continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Elijah Thomas was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Robinson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lex Henderson, who scored nine points along with two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Giedeman, who scored eight points.
Robinson struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Fairfax pulled down 25 offensive rebounds.
Fairfax is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Robinson, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.
Fairfax will head out on the road to take on the Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Robinson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Stallions at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
