Volleyball Recap: Pittsburg Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Pittsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Freedom Falcons, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-1 loss back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-9, 25-14.

Tamya Lemons paced Pittsburg's offense, picking up six kills. Lemons got some help from Zelanda Coleman and her five assists. Alicia Suacillo controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Freedom found their leader in freshman Olivia Reyes, who had six digs and three aces. Reyes has been hot recently, having posted three or more aces the last three times she's played. Nevaeh Metts also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Pittsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Freedom, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pittsburg is set to square off against their familiar foe Deer Valley at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Freedom will challenge rival Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
