Softball Recap: McClain Takes a Loss

McClain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Clay Panthers, falling 11-5.

Brie Cummins was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Posey, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

McClain's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Clay, they pushed their record up to 19-7 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

Looking ahead, McClain will head out to square off against Waverly at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McClain's pitchers better be ready for this one: Waverly has averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. Clay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
