Baseball Recap: Parkville Victorious

Parkville won against Western Tech & Environmental Science on Monday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Knights walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Perry Hall Gators. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 4-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Parkville let Nick Rodriguez and Kiel Lewis run wild. Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Lewis went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Rodriguez has become a key player for Parkville: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise.

Parkville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Perry Hall, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parkville will head out to square off against Catonsville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Perry Hall, they will venture away from home to face off against Sparrows Point at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
