Softball Game Preview: Jackson South Side Hawks vs. Crockett County Cavaliers

Jackson South Side is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of University School of Jackson on Monday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Crockett County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over Lexington on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

Anna Stallings spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Crockett County got a massive performance out of Fallon Beaird, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those hits marked the first that Beaird got this season. Maddie Stitts was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Crockett County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lexington only posted a batting average of .276.

Jackson South Side's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Crockett County, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
