Recap: Essex Trojans vs. Northumberland Indians
The Essex Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. Their rough 53-28 loss to Northumberland might stick with them for a while. Essex was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Northumberland apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Northumberland found their leader in underclassman Tyreek Lundy, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lundy has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Laws MJ, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Essex has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Northumberland, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Essex will face off against Lancaster at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northumberland, they will head out on the road to square off against Colonial Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
