Preview: Avon Braves vs. Oakfield-Alabama/Elba Aggies
The Avon Braves will head out on the road to face off against the Oakfield-Alabama/Elba Aggies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Avon is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
Last Friday, Avon blew past Notre Dame, posting a 43-9 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Avon, who have now won three games by 28 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Oakfield-Alabama/Elba lost to York/Pavilion on the road by a decisive 33-14 margin on Friday.
Avery Watterson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Watterson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Austin Pangrazio also helped out as he racked up 155 rushing yards.
Avon's win lifted them to 5-2 while Oakfield-Alabama/Elba's defeat dropped them down to 4-4.
Avon was able to grind out a solid victory over Oakfield-Alabama/Elba in their previous matchup back in September, winning 13-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for Avon since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
