Basketball Game Preview: Montgomery Central Timberwolves vs. North Davidson Black Knights

Montgomery Central is 1-6 against North Davidson since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Montgomery Central Timberwolves will welcome the North Davidson Black Knights at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Montgomery Central is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 25th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They were dealt a 78-26 loss at the hands of Southern Lee. Having soared to a lofty 56 points in the game before, the Timberwolves couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, North Davidson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The match between them and Western Guilford didn't end well, with North Davidson falling 68-54. While losing is never fun, the Black Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 355th, while the Hornets are ranked 127th).

Montgomery Central will have to contain Drew Hege as he made an impact in North Davidson's last game. He went 6 of 10 on his way to 17 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Coen Miller, who posted ten points.

North Davidson's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Montgomery Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Montgomery Central took a serious blow against North Davidson in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 83-42. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Montgomery Central was down 43-12.
