Softball Recap: Ridgedale Rockets vs. Elgin Comets

Ridgedale extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 4-10. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Elgin Comets. The Rockets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Comets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Kiley Slone spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Jillian Slaughterbeck was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Adyson Thomas, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
