Baseball Recap: Hernando Finds Home Field Redemption Against Mitchell

There's no place like home for Hernando, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Mitchell Mustangs 2-0. This was a revenge game for the Leopards: when they faced off against the Mustangs last Wednesday, they had to take a 4-2 loss.

Hernando saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Knierim, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most hits Knierim has posted since back in March.

Hernando pushed their record up to 14-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Mitchell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season.

Hernando has already played their next game, a 7-4 defeat against Nature Coast Tech on the 11th. As for Mitchell, they are taking a road trip to challenge East Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
